Meet the Designer

I’m Danni Free and I’m a qualified Interior Designer, based in Surrey Hills, in Melbourne’s Eastern suburbs.

In 2009, my husband and I renovated a 1920’s Californian Bungalow, a process I enjoyed so much, I wanted to do it again. It’s our forever home that we now share with our daughter and our golden retriever fluff ball, Harvey, who’s as handsome as they come!

I’m very partial to a period home with its history, character and elegant features. Re-imagining these beauties, with respect and to meet the demands of a contemporary family lifestyle, is something I’ll always get excited about.

Prior to the world of interiors, my earlier creative life was in publishing, advertising and brand marketing, in Australia and the Middle East. Creating and executing campaigns and writing content for global brands; it’s this experience that has been most valuable in smoothing my career cross over. I formalised my career change with a Dip of Interior Design, however crafting a client brief, creating concepts and innovative ideas and delivering a project on time, budget and on brief has always been part of my process.

I’m confident you’ll find me approachable and easy to work with.
I’ll spend plenty of time with you, getting to know you, your family and will delve deep to fully understand how you use your space. Together, we’ll unravel your practical needs, nice to have desires and we’ll uncover how you want your space to look and feel. I want you to walk through the door and feel a connection and a sense of relief to be ‘home’.

At the core of my design philosophy is originality, authenticity and collaboration.
You won’t see replicated styles or a cookie cutter approach in the work I do. My aim is to create a space that is original and functions to the demands of you and your family. I maintain an awareness of current design trends and classic styles but the design I create for your space, tells your story and works with your lifestyle.

Let’s see if we fit?

In the same way you’ve come here to get to know me, I’d like to know more about you and your project.

Let’s have a quick chat to see if we can work together.
